UK’s ONS to delay Retail Sales and GDP data releases

The UK’s Office for National Statistics announced on Friday that it will be delaying the release of the next Retail Sales and the GDP data.

“The Publication of the UK retail sales data will be delayed by 1 day,” the ONS noted. “May release of the GDP data will be delayed by a day, June delayed by 2 days.”

The ONS further explained that the disruption caused by the pandemic causes them to spend extra time to quality assure some of the data before publication.
