EUR/GBP back to square one as UK votes on EU membership

EUR/GBP bounced from daily lows and is back at square one amid choppy trade as UK votes on EU membership.

EUR/GBP turned higher after setting a 3-week low of 0.7622, but the upside remained capped by the 0.77 area. After reaching a peak of 0.7706, the pair retreated slightly and it was last trading at 0.7670, little changed on the day.

The pound strengthened during the European session amid optimism over a Remain victory in the Brexit vote. However, nothing is certain as first results are expected around 00:00 GMT.
