Greece’s FinMin denies letter mistake
FXStreet (Córdoba) - Greece’s finance minister Yanis Varoufakis denied the Bild Zeitung story.
Via Twitter, Varoufakis said:
@yanisvaroufakis: “One must believe @BILD’s tall stories (about us Greeks) at one’s peril.
Earlier Germany's Bild Zeitung report reported Greece sent the wrong letter to the Eurogroup’s Head on Thursday due to an “administrative mistake”.
According to the report, the intended letter said Greece will accept bailout conditions agreed to by the previous government. That was supposedly prepared by Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and Eurogroup head Jeroen Dijsselbloem on Wednesday.
Eurogroup meeting delayed
Eurozone finance ministers are currently in Brussels seeking to sign a deal for Greece. However the gathering is said to be delayed due to Greek “mistake”. Arriving to the meeting, some finance ministers commented an agreement might not be reached today.
