United States (US) President Donald Trump stepped up his rhetoric against Iran on Wednesday on the sidelines of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) summit, according to comments cited by Reuters. The US President said the United States would strike additional Iranian targets overnight and could act without a deal, adding that he is not convinced any potential agreement with Tehran would prove durable.

Trump also said US forces had destroyed 28 Iranian boats the previous night and could target more in the coming hours. He did not rule out strikes on Iran's electricity infrastructure, water treatment plants or Kharg Island, the country's main Oil export terminal.
