US stocks recover ground, USD unstoppable
FXStreet (Córdoba) - Equities in the US were recovering part of yesterday's losses while European markets finished mixed. The FTSE 100 rose 0.14%, the Cac 40 gained 0.91% and the Dax lost 0.20% while in Wall Street main indexes were rising, Dow Jones 0.50%, Nasdaq 0.41% and S&P 500 0.36%.
Among currencies, the US dollar was the best performer on Friday and hit fresh highs across the board. EUR/USD dropped further below 1.2700, GBP/USD broke below 1.6270 and USD/JPY approached last week highs. Commodity currencies were falling in the market, extending weekly losses.
Crude oil was rising 0.70%, the barrel rose above $93.00. Gold was losing 0.50% after making a strong reversal at $1,231; the once was hovering around $1,215.
